Jupiter High School student, Aidan Hackett, launched the “I Got This!” campaign to raise awareness and help young people identify potential heart problems. Aidan has a condition known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), which is the thickening of the heart muscle. The diagnosis of the hereditary disease brought the 14-year-old’s lifestyle to a halt. In June of 2018, the former Little League star underwent surgery. As he was going in for his procedure, Aidan looked up at his parents and confidently said, “I got this!”
All funds generated from this campaign will support the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Heart Program.
Every three days in the United States a student-athlete dies suddenly due to an undetected heart condition.
