b'A letter fromOur Foundation PresidentI am so incredibly honored to be able to serve this Foundation and the many patients and families that are helped through access to world-class health care. When I think back to my first meeting with our Board of Directors in December 2004, we were discussing how we, a newly established local charity, could make the greatest impact on advancing and enhancing pediatric health care in the local community. We understood that there was a great need, as many families had to travel out of the area to get specialized care. We needed a fundraising plan and partners to help us make this vision a reality. Fast forward to today, and our fundraising success and partnerships have exceeded all our goals by leaps and bounds.I am grateful to Jack and Barbara, our co-founders, who had the passion to create this organization, and to our loyal board members, most of whom have been with us since day one. Because of their support, and that of so many dedicated friends and donors, we are on target to reach nearly $190 million in funds raised since that meeting was held 19 years ago.How did we accomplish this? It has often been said that golf was the vehicle that allowed the Nicklaus family to give back, and it has certainly allowed our Foundation to generate special opportunities for others to get involved and give back as well. In the pages ahead, you will see the many events that are held annually that bring together amateurs and professionals with the common mission of helping kids.We knew early on that we needed the right partner to make our dream come trueand we found that and more with Nicklaus Childrens Hospital. We started with a focus on our local community and have since grown the vision to helping children throughout the state, the country, and around the world!Once again, I want to thank Jack and Barbara, our board members, and the donors and supporters that believed in us thenand continue to believe in us now. You are all a part of making this history, which will continue today, tomorrow, and beyond.Gratefully,Patty McDonald President & CEO'
